Tunnel Vision
by

In the cosmic blackness
teeming with fireflies,
we gaze through this concept man calls time,
into your effervescent eyes.
Our souls see through you,
our hearts laid bare;
asking of you nothing more
than the return of our stare.
Out here no sound would dare to corrupt
the crispness of your laughter,
but the silence of promise,
of love ever after.
But bereft of your presence;
denied of your light,
what good are the stars
in the blackness of night?
